Next Class commences:
Pre-requisite: Sewing experience is recommended.
This course is recommended for skilled sewers who wish to learn how to make a set of blocks to fit their individual body measurements. Extensive body measurements are taken and used to make individual skirt, bodice and sleeve blocks. Step-by-step group instruction enables an in-depth understanding of block making. Students are required to make a toile calico (fit sample) at home, which is fitted during class and any adjustments made if required. Blocks are then finalised for tracing onto cardboard at home.
This is an introduction to pattern making techniques and principles and students are then able to further their pattern making skills and knowledge by enrolling in Pattern making II.
